KT #1 – Mirroring repositories at Gitlab.com

Recently I started to migrate my repositories from Github to Gitlab.com, because I think it has better features than Github, but I wanted to maintain my Github repositories updated, because it has your enchantments yet 🙂

I started looking for third-party tools to realize this synchronization, but none satisfied me. Until, changing some configurations in one of my repos, I’ve found an awesome and handy feature at Gitlab.com, that matches fine what I was looking for, the “Mirroring repositories” feature.

Activating this, it’s possible to have your repository synchronized in a bidirectional way (push and pull) with any other git provider.

To activate, follow these steps at Gitlab.com:

  1. Go to the project Details
  2. Put the mouse over Settings option
  3. Click at Repository
  4. Expand the Mirroring Repositories option
  5. Fill the information about the repository that you want synchronize from or to
  6. And enjoy!

Below a video showing how to find the feature.

That’s all folks, feel free to comment and stay in tune for more tips and tricks.
